Flew back thursday, we were given a boarding pass with set seats. We all turned right and i can confidently say that everybody sat together.
I heard horror stories about free for all seating with Atlas, but Virgin had clearly assigned seats from the Thomas Cook manifest with the CAA and it went smoothly. There were however "invited guests" put into the extra legroom seats.
Very very very professionally run by the CAA and Virgin Atlantic

I wonder if the ATOL and ABTA reserves will need topping up after this and we will all get charged an extra 2% as happened when the funds were first set up year ago.

Its debatable about whether you can claim - however I have seen reports that as you didn't receive what you were expecting to then you *may* have a case. Was your daughter delayed or back to a different airport?

I think package holidays are going to increase in value as supply is down. AFAIK atol contribution is set at £2.50pp

When you say ‘year ago’ do you mean 40 years ago when ATOL started? I can’t see any info about charging extra 2% when I search online
