“Happy tears, it’s all happy tears” Oct 19 pre travel day NOW LIVE

Hi everyone!

Our pre trip is here

A brief recap, we are Natalie, Sam and Charlie and this is our 2nd trip.

So I was basically too excited to sleep last night and gave up at 5 and was dibbing until 6.30.

Both Sam and I had work today and Charlie was at school so except for the fact we were running around packing last bits and putting washing on like headless chickens it was a normal ish day.

Luckily I finish at 3pm on Tuesdays so I was there to collect Charlie from the gate at 3.30 where we went home, showered, packed the car and waited for Sam... and how we waited! Sam got held up with a client about an hour away and didn’t get home until 6.30 🙄

Charlie and I passed the time (and got over the irritation!) by crossing off the last countdown day:

I can’t help but compare this to his pic from 2 years ago...

I also admired my holiday nails..

And finally we were off at 6.30!

We stopped at Cobham Services for pizza express (I love Cobham Services!)

We had dough balls and garlic bread to start, then American for Charlie, Diavolo for Sam and funghi Bosco for me:

This was just over £60 (no offers at the Services) and was delicious. We were all starving! Poor Sam hadn’t even had lunch!

We got some drinks from M&S (Prosecco and beer) and hit the road.

We arrived at the Premier Inn at 9.30pm and checked in easily. We are staying at the one on Balcombe Road about 4 miles from Gatwick south and it’s lovely. We had a great check in with a lovely guy on reception.

At this point we noticed how co-ordinated Charlie is with his hoodie, trainers and suitcase!

No pics yet as we dumped bags and got Charlie to bed. He’s sleeping now while Sam and I have a cheeky drink - Prosecco is a real treat for me as I have Invisalign braces and you aren’t supposed to have it with them (don’t worry wine is fine &#128514

I’ll try and add some pics in the morning, see you all tomorrow night after travel day!
