Of course that was long before the expansion to the GF when the DVC Villas were added and they had to face the issues with the alligators in the water. Overall it’s a good idea and would make a pleasant walkway between the resorts and the MK and the Monorail stop. Perhaps they should have included a walkway between AK and the AKL before they built the Savannahs in the park and resort areas. It will be interesting to see if they incorporate a walkway between the new Star Wars resort and DHS. Something like they did at Disney Springs would be good where you can access area without having to cross busy stretches of roads.
That’s right. It is not a new idea. They didn’t have the cash or inclination to make it happen, though.

How long did that walk take you?

It will only be a very short walk to the edge of the path on GF closest to the Monorail station. Probably another five minutes out from the far side of GF to the edge of the Poly and likewise from the other side of the Poly to the TTC. The walk from CR is currently about 10 minutes to the bus stop area and the front of MK and the Monorail depending on vehicles on the roads that come in from the main road entry area. It’s the section between TTC and the CR that will be a nightmare to cope with probably a good 15 minutes walk minimum and there’s not that much shade there after all the road construction work began.
I do love to be able to walk to a park from a resort when possible, that’s why I love the walkway between BW, YC and BC that goes to Epcot and DHS ( a very pleasant walk ).

The walk between Poly and GF / to TTC is really nice :-)

I also highly rate ability to walk to a park!

There is a path on both sides of the water. It just needs a bridge.

I think that section could be more than 15 minutes but I would still choose it over waiting for the ferry/monorail with a wheelchair after the fireworks. It also isn't always hot here. I think it could be quite pleasant outside the summer months.

Unless they’ve relaid the path since I was on it, they will need to do that. It was in an absolutely shocking state. It’s the one area of WDW I’ve ever been in which needed very obvious maintenance.

There were many missing and upraised blocks (accident waiting to happen) and lights not working and looking in a sorry state. I guess they didn’t bother with it before as nobody really had a reason to use it.

Yes, I agree it is a lot further. I would also choose it (walking) though!

We are fast walkers so sorry for underestimating the time. It’s a habit we got into with work walking at an average speed of roughly 4 miles per hour. I forget not everyone wants or indeed can walk at the pace we do.
