Where to stay between Miami and Orlando
Anyone got any suggestions for an overnight stay on way to Orlando from Miami?
Our flight gets into Miami Mid afternoon (Jul 2020). Thinking of picking up the car and making way up the coast a couple of hours. Hotel with nice pool and beach view would be nice. But where's a nice place to stay? Any ideas? Edited at 09:49 PM. |

We have a similar flight arrival time, but just going to drive until we've had enough, then beach/pool and find a motel for the night. Depends on how the flight/immigration/drive goes as to how far North we get. Going at Easter, so if I remember/you remind me, I'll let you know what we did. We've stayed at Lauderdale by the Sea - that was right on the beach, West Palm Beach and a long time ago Cocoa Beach on previous visits, although not as a transient night.

We stayed at the Fairfield inn Jupiter which was a nice distance from Miami. Just off the turnpike so easy to get to. It had a small pool and there were a few restaurants in walking distance.

We've spent an afternoon at Vero Beach - it seemed quite nice, quite an affluent area -although local teens call it Zero Beach as it's a small town with nothing much for them to do.

I do feel for the local teens but small, clean and quiet is a good starting point for us passing through after a long trip.
I've been looking at some hotels in the South Beach Park area which look very nice. Thinking dinner on way up, check in, walk on the beach and bed. Up early next AM...breakfast, pool swim and make our way to Orlando. This actually may make flying into Miami a positive rather than just bearable! |

Thanks mucho! I'll check it out.
We get in 3pm to Miami so I'm not sure if we'll be able to make it all the way to Vero Beach before dark (2.5 hrs). Jupiter might be more doable (1.5 hrs). Just need to work out how long it'll take to get through immigration and pick up car from Avis (prefered). Edited at 10:51 AM. |

We landed at 3pm last year in miami, and we’re on the road by 4.30 after clearing immigration and collecting the car. We drove up to Deerfield Beach and were in the hotel pool by 6.30, was still light and we had dinner by the ocean which was a lovely relaxing start to the holiday. We left at 8 am the following morning, stopped at Vero beach cor brunch and was at the Hard Rock hotel at 1pm. We love the East Coast 😀

We stopped at the Hampton Inn at Port St Lucie just off the turnpike. It was a bulk standard HI and was clean etc
We made it just before sunset in Oct, I think it was about 2 hours from Miami. Cannot tell you much about the local area as it was dark and we were tired ! We just ordered Pizza & ate in the room. We made it up to Orlando for park opening the following morning |

Excited about Disney

Hi! We’ve stayed several times at the Miami Beach resort in Miami Beach. There are lots of nice hotels along that stretch, on the beachfront. They are not within walking distance of anything other than the beach, although they are a short drive to South Beach. The rooms at the Miami Beach resort are a little tired now. We love it because we got married on the beach there (a loooong time ago!) there are probably more swish hotels nearby on that Collins Avenue stretch.
