We are doing similar I couldn't bare the thought of another flight or trying to load all our crap... sorry... delightful purchases onto 2 planes on the way home. So we are flying to Miami staying 2 nights at Hollywood beach and then driving up to Orlando.
We decided not to stay in miami to get a little distance between us and the hotel to make travel day number 2 slightly shorter but not too far if DH is tired.
No idea what hollywood beach is like but hoping for the best. We are only staying at a doubletree because we don't know the area and a chain seems like a safe bet.

We’ve booked a hotel in Jupiter too, Comfort Inn and Suites

Thanks all. Good to see it’s not an unusual thing to do. I’m still not sure how far up I can comfortably drive after a 9 hr flight.

Looks like we might be on the road by 4:30pm. I’d like to make it to Vero Beach but Jupiter or Port St Lucie might be more realistic.

Anyone travelled as far up at Vero on the 3pm arrival flight?

We stayed in the Hampton Inn at West palm beach, was only about 2 hours drive. Was ideal for us for a quick over night stay and not far from the motorway.
