Pre paid cash cards recommendations

Hi All,
We are first timers going in 30 days and are really worried about how to take our dollars. We do not want a credit card type thing and we were thinking of getting a prepaid card. We are going to take £1,500 worth of dollars so we were thinking of taking £500 of dollars in cash and the £1000 on a prepaid card.
If we used a prepaid card what one would you recommend? We want one that is easy to use and ideally comes with an app or something...nothing technical.
We are mega clueless!
Thanks in advance

I'd have to vote for Fairfx as well for the same reasons, been using mine since 2009 without any issues

I've used Caxton and FairFX in the past and never had any issues, next year I'm going to be taking a Thomas Cook cash passport as I work there so feel I should give it a go!

Check out the revoult card, we used this in oct, no fees its controlled by an app on your phone and you get the bank rate every time you use it.

We also used the Revolut card in October without any problems and got great rates. So easy to top up, exchange £'s to $'s when we needed and to check balance using the app

Another vote for Revolut, used it in October and was fab, as soon as purchased something the message is straight thru to your phone.

We kept it all in Sterling and when you pay you get the exchange rate at that time for the purchase and is always alot higher than other rates.

We got 2 cards 1 each and loaded £750 on each and took cash with us aswell

I've used FairFX for three years in a row with no problems at all.

The app is excellent, shows transactions straight away so you have an accurate picture of your funds.

I had to top up my card whilst I was in Orlando and the funds were available immediately.

Their security is pretty good too, I went on a bit of a spending spree and they contacted me to check the charges were legitimate (quick email).

I've also withdrawn cash using the card too with no hassle.
