FLight prices for next year
So with all of this years upheaval, DH's surprise 50th birthday trip to Florida was cancelled
Refusing to be pulled into an abyss of having no florida to look forward too, I am looking ahead to next year as I really can't see later on this year being an option with all the changes taking place over there. I've been looking at the new virgin direct flights from LHR to MCO, and am musing about doing Ecconomy classic direct out and Premium via ATL back (as an extra treat for DH as his big 50 is now going to be a big 51!). Prices currently for end of April is £1500, is this a good price, average, or an OMG how much? price? We've only ever flown economy and premium economy before so I have no idea what kind of money I should be looking at! Also do you think its worth paying extra? I do love the thought of a bigger chair as at 6ft tall I find it impossible to get comfortable to sleep and DH is . . . ahem . . . on the larger size so may appreciate a bit more wriggle room FYI, the return is via Delta if that makes any difference! Help me please dibbers!

Is the £1500 each or for 2?

Surely better to do premium out and econ back as all you’ll be doing is sleeping on the way back anyway! Plus it might help with the immigration queues of off the plane quicker.

Unfortunately as DH and I both have to have special assistance to and from the aircraft we will always be last off the plane. I can't sleep in economy at all, can't sleep sitting up was hoping Premium would be a bit bigger so I could curl up and try to get some sleep

Doesnt sound too bad to me, also premium on the way back will give you the extra luggage allowance

For outside school holidays I’d be hoping for under £400 direct for economy classic. Premium on the way back is always cheaper than the way out due to the way the taxes are worked out. I’d say that was too expensive for direct, let alone indirect.
This is based on the last 15 Years experience and I get everything’s a bit different at the moment, but the sub £400 economy classic flights are there for next year. Edited at 06:57 AM. |

If you’re searching for 14 nights then virgin have only released up to the 1st May, which is why you’re only finding indirect on the way back. Wait a few days for them to release their direct flights.
If you went for a week from 21-28th April, it’s £1272 for 2 adults on virgins website. Economy classic out, premium return. That’s direct both ways too. |
