He could’ve been great for us too but the chairman sold our best striker (some things never change ) and that was that and he left us for you i think.

Melvin's first favourite was Danny Blanchflower but he played for the wrong team.

When we got married I became a Chelsea supporter like him and to be truthful my favourite is Gianfranco Zola a gentleman on and off the pitch

Zola was the subject of one of my favourite commentaries when Chelsea were playing Tromso of Norway around 20+ years ago. He scored a superb free kick and the commentator (may have been Jonathan Pearce) said "and the men from the land of the midnight sun have just suffered a Zola eclipse"
