Have they put the gates back up?

Years ago, Frinton was gated to keep it exclusive!

Could’ve done. Thing is we checked tides before we we went and got there at 8:30 for low tide. That photo was taken about 11:00. It busied up slightly as the day went on, but not by much. A family arrived about 1:30 and plonked themselves right next to us despite having near 100yds of clear beach. Never seen one family with so much stuff. Still we were just packing up as high tide was 2:00. Hope theY enjoyed some 20 mins on the beach. We went for fish and chips and ate them on the green, then had a stroll down to Walton pier

We used to go to Frinton and the locals are so snobby they petioned against a tesco metro in the high street (a waitrose local might have been different).

Still no food shops etc on the front. You have to go into the high street for food. We always take a picnic for the beach and then into town for fish and chips at the end of the day. It’s a fantastic beach and I love the fact there’s no arcades or souvenir shops

I do agree with you because I wouldn't have a free holiday in Clacton or Blackpool just far too tacky (I'm a diamond geezer - not posh).

Here is a picture I took yesterday at Lepe (hampshire). The South westerly wind whipped up a bit and the car was covered in salt on the right hand side ! But what an experience

We were there on Friday, our 27th wedding anniversary. Got there around 10.30am & there were a few people dotted about but not many.

Trouble was the wind it was so bad we were sandblasted.
Stiff upper lipped we stayed for about an hour & half.
We were entertained however by a fly away blow up boat being chased by an adult & 2 older kids. What possessed them to chance bringing it to the beach with a wind warning in place I don't know but it was hilarious. It took them around 15 mins to get it and walk back
