It All Begins And Ends In Washington! Day 7

We were up early today and went to the dining room for breakfast. I had pancakes and bacon with maple syrup they were really nice. DW had sausage egg and toast the sausage was cold so they took that off the bill which worked out around $15 including coffee.
We set off the 10 miles to our first hike to Dark Hollow Falls was classed a moderate walk but was pretty steep on the way back but the falls were lovely.

Once we had finished that walk we drove along the Skyline stopping off at more of the viewpoints until we got to mile marker 80 or so and did another walk to Blackrock Summit.

We had our lunch up there enjoying the view while we ate.

We stopped of at another few view points on the way and DW climbed to the top of this rock!

Our last walk of the day was another climb up Hawksbill Gap this was quite a hike up but another brilliant view. Glad it was downhill on way back though . All the walk we did today were around a couple of miles each no great long ones but all had a bit of a hike to get to the top.

By the time we got back to Skyland we were pretty hungry so went to the tap room and shared a pound of boneless wings in bbq sauce, fries and coleslaw there was loads. The boneless wings were very good cost tonight was around $30 including a beer and lemonade and was much nicer than last night which cost double. Headed back to our room and sorted out our stuff for setting off on the next part of our trip along the Skyline and onto the Blueridge Parkway to Roanoke.
