Alamo Car Hire Sanford Thomson

Just under two weeks to go and we have just collected our tickets and vouchers from Thomson.

The car hire voucher is in my wife's name as she was the lead passenger on the booking, but I will be doing the driving.

I have asked Thomson twice if I need the voucher to be in my name and they insist that we don't.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I would hate to arrive after a long flight and end up wasting a load of time trying to sort it out

we had exactly the same problem, i was the lead passenger when we booked and told them that hubby would be doing the driving .. np they said we'll put your DH name on the voucher but you'll still be the lead passenger ... year later alamo vouchers turned up with my name on them ... took us 3 weeks of constant hasseling to get Thomsons to sort it out
first it was no it was fine, then it was no u need the whole booking name changed, then oh no its just the name on the alamo booking that needs to be changed, then it was no sorry we're going to have to change the whole booking and put your husband as the lead passenger -.- ... no-one seemed to know exactly what was supposed to be done about it, it was only on the 3rd week of being in there and chasing it up (3 weeks before we were meant to fly) and the store manager happened to over hear us talking to the sales rep and came over and said that the whole booking had to be changed over as the voucher needed to be in the name of the driver. They charged us to change it over to DH but refunded the charge as a goodwill gesture. As it should have all been booked in his name to start with if he was going to be the driver and because we had been given the wrong information when we initialy booked the holiday.
when we got there (Sanford, Alamo) we checked with the guys behind the desk and they said we were lucky we got the name changed or they wouldnt have been able to hire us the car as the name on the voucher needed to be the named driver.

I thought as much. That is why I specifically asked them twice!
