Disney Magic. Dover to Barcelona 2016. Pre trip

This is my first trip report and I am not a natural writer so please bear with me. I hope someone gets some use out of our experience and if it helps, I have achieved my aim. I was travelling with my lovely wife and two teen boys aged 16 and 14.
Our trip was scheduled from Monday 25th July 2016 to Monday 1st August 2016 so we travelled down on the day before which was the Sunday. First advice, take some warm clothes with you if you do a trip like this. I thought summer, Spain and Portugal, shorts and shirts will be fine, no the wind is bracing so pack some hoodies, fleeces or light coats/jackets.

Pre travel day.
So, the weekend of our travel, France decided to cause havoc at Dover. With extra security checks and no extra staff. People stuck in cars for 14 hours just to get on the ferry! Thankfully this didn't affect us (until I chatted to the port police at Dover who are employed by Disney on the embarkation day who said it was very close to relocating the start to Southampton).
We stayed at the premier inn at the ferry port albeit it's a very long walk and I would heartily recommend a taxi. The hotel was lovely, staff were great(especially Jodie who went above and beyond what is required) and food acceptable. It is booked months in advanced when there is a Disney cruise so if you decide to do it, get booked in early as you can cancel the day of arrival if necessary. We got the train down (booked 12 weeks in advance at a cost of just £22.80 for all 4 of us from the midlands . The walk from the train station (Dover priory) with cases is fine at 20 minutes and a taxi is £6.50. The room is normal premier inn so it's nice but basic. We had a bit of a nightmare on the evening with a quick trip to the accident and emergency department some 25 miles away but thankfully this didn't affect our trip, but 'nuff said about this...

I can't wait to see what you thought of this trip, I'm wondering if it should be on our to do list. I saw the Magic on the News that morning, I was very excited about that
