CRT - on Dining plan - paying OOP for a child's meal

My eldest will be 10 and is therefore classed as an adult on the DDP. She doesn't have adult tastes or appetite. I know I have to pay adult prices (use adult credits) at buffets / family dining and dinner shows. Is this the case for CRT?

No. I've paid OOP here for a child's meal when DD was 12.

Would this work if you were paying cash? I know you have to prepay so would they allow you to only buy a children's meal for an older child who is a Disney adult? Not sure that would work.

How much is it for a child's meal? Our DD is 12, but also doesn't eat much and would probably end up choosing from the child's menu anyway.

Interested to hear if anyone has used DDP for adults and paid OOP for children.

Yes I have done this three times. Once at breakfast, once lunch and once dinner. Not tried since 2014 though.
