Next year we are planning to go in Oct and having never done a Halloween Party wondered if it was worth buying a ticket to the party as we're not really sure what goes on, apart from you might get to ride some of the rides with less queue time?

We would like to do the one at A niversal as that's sound too scary, but maybe Disney is not so?

Halloween party is great fun! We went in 2015 so not sure if anything has changed but would 100% recommend.
There are so many 'candy stops' to collect goodies, we came away with so much stuff!
There are special characters out for meet and greets.
There's Hallowishes and a Halloween parade.
And you can dress up which is fun.
Definitely worth it!

Yeah go for it we loved it been twice and it's not just the rides seeing the costumes collecting the candy, watching the villains show and boo to you parade really fun night.

we worked out we have done it 11 times

always used to book the 28 or 29th AND the 31 Oct, mainly incase it rained or someone didnt feel well

meet some of the rarer characters, always used to have our pic taken with the " pumkin carriage ", which was always special, as we go for 2 weeks, the ride side of it isnt that important as we can ride them all at other times
Hallowishes is great, The parade is outstanding

My advice and we see it happen time and time again, dont get suckered into the " free candy " and spend your time trudging around the park for the candy stops time and time again, if you want candy pop to Walmart / Target and buy some
