Rainy day at Discovery Cove?

Is Discovery Cove still a good day if it rains? I guess its what you make of it, but because you have to book a particular day so far ahead, you could potentially get unlucky with a bad weather day.

Do the attractions still run if its raining or there is a storm?

Just hesitating before I book for May.

Any experiences?

Book Discovery Cove early in your holiday so if the weather or other factors mean that your day is cancelled you will still have time to re-book.

I would say its definitely not a rainy day thing as its about lazing around on the pseudo beaches and swimming in the lazy river.

As with any water park it's not really ideal on a rainy day and if there are threats of lightening then they'll move you away from the water and into covered areas.

Over the years we've had two days curtailed by the rain and on both occasions been given tickets to return for the day

Can you rebook for another day even if you buy from a Ticket Agent like Orlando Attraction Deals? or do you have to book direct with DC?

Thanks

The first time we did Discovery Cove it was torrential rain. No lightening though. Didn't occur to us to cancel and re-arrange, we just went anyway. Had an amazing day. Most people had obviously cancelled so it was really quiet, we got loads of time with the dolphin (Capricorn). The rain didn't matter as we were in the water anyway so already wet. It was the best day of our holiday which was full of brilliant days.

The second time we went, it was a bit of a let down. The weather was brilliant so the park was busy, we didn't get very much time with the dolphin and didn't get anywhere near as many photos either - it all felt very much like we were on a conveyor belt. We did hire a cabana which was great. We still really enjoyed the day, but definitely preferred our first visit, even with the rain.

You can see the rain in this pic from our first visit!
