None of us have said we would do that. I mentioned shoes but just meant her normal shoes/sandals or trainers. Not suggesting putting her in heels for height. I'd never be so reckless

I don't think anyone is suggesting doing this. If DS isn't tall enough we will just sit and cry in a corner together ( I am joking btw)

Good luck to all those hoping their children will grow enough in time. We had the opposite problem in that our daughter when she first went at 5 could go on most things! The downside was she was too tall for the smaller section in the water parks which had a height limit - she is not a very competent swimmer so found the other water rides difficult.

My youngest was 5 when we went in 2015 - he was tall enough for everything in the parks that he wanted to ride. He will be 7 when we go this August and will be tall enough for the rides at the water parks that he wants to ride (luckily he wasn't tall enough last time as he was only just swimming then but is a good swimmer now).

I haven't measured him as much this time as I know he is above the magic 48 inches.

I haven't measured dd since oct when we went to Blackpool. Hoping to take her to flamingo land at Easter - my chance to see how tall she is without needing to tell her why she needs to grow more. She doesn't know about Disney yet and won't until August

Not for rides (if they're not tall enough to do everything, there's always a good excuse to go back!) but when we went to New York, I booked tickets for the Crown of the SoL without realising that there was a minimum height requirement of 1.2m. DD was 8 at the time and tiny. I measured her at least once a week during the run up to the holiday and she just about made it - when we got there, they never even checked!

The 40, 42, 44 and 48 inch marks are still on our kitchen doorframe from measuring our 2 DDs. They were both always very tall for their age and got on the 44 inch rides when they were 3, though I remember an IOA employee asking our eldest to take off her cap whilst he checked her height at Dudley Do-right. She was tall enough to get on. I suppose he was just checking to make sure we hadn't put anything in her cap to inflate her height.

In 2014 my then 3 year old just made the height for Splash mountain and ToT (in the mornings, she was that marginal). We're going again in Oct, and her little sister will be the same age. Unfortunately she is much smaller, so isn't going to make many rides 😑. We measured them all last week to see, and the 3 year old the same height her sister was at 2 years old!

Ahahah yes I do. We have 4 kids. 9, 7, 5 and 2.

We are going back in 2018. So I created a spreadsheet that when I enter each kids height, it turns each attraction green, so I know what they can get on etc.

Saves me constantly referring to sites.

Oh wow - I love the idea of this. Am such a spreadsheet nerd and it never occurred to me ! Goes away and kicks herself.
