Jiko is absolutely amazing! One of the best signature restaurants we have ever eaten at, the food is truly outstanding. Bomb is also amazing, great for breakfast or an easy dinner, great selection of food as it is a buffet. Also, the QS Mara is also good for a quick bite to eat, lots of choice. Hope you enjoy your honeymoon

Thanks for your advice! Is there anything in particular on the menus that we should try?

We checked in at 11 and didn't get our room till after 3, we were not bothered as we were at Disney springs.
We had standard room and have booked the same again.
Our room view as well as reviews from Sanaa, Boma and Mara are all in my food review from July.

We are there again this July.

You will love it! We stayed last April. We booked a standard room but requested Kudu Trail high floor and had a great partial savannah view! It's such an amazing resort.

Hey Guys,

Thats really good info Did you have to get in contact with the resort before you got there to request this, or did you request it when you arrived?

Thank you

If you booked direct with Disney you can just call them to add this request. That's what I have always done.

We did the online check in (I think 60 days out) via the MDE app. I had read a lot of people who request Kudu Trail get a partial savannah view. We could see a people pen but we also saw all the animals from the resort - our DDs loved it.

We had the view shown here, almost identical... except the trees weren't as bushy so we could see lots more!

touringplans/walt-disney...-kingdom-lodge

We arrived about 11am and got access to our room straight away.

Jiko is probably the best restaurant I have been to at Disney. Beautiful setting, great service and the food is wonderful.
I had the pork shank which was mouth watering. There were 10 of us celebrating DS wedding, we chose a variety of dishes from fish to meat, not a single complaint, best meal of the holiday.
Sanaa as others have said is spot on and we ate there on the day before the wedding.. There is a bar/lounge attached where you can order the nan bread service (amazing) for a snack when having a drink as opposed to eating in the restaurant. We did early afternoon after the wedding ceremony prior going to Jiko in the evening.
Have a great time.

Its such a long thread 'fraid I dont have time to read all of it but wanted to say...

We had our honeymoon there 15 years ago- it was perfect!

Book ALL your ADR's for your table service meals. You can always cancel them.
Boma for breakfast is excellent. Sanaa is good for either lunch or dinner.

Buses are just as regular as they are at any resort...but Disney Springs is a real pain. Furthest point away. Animal Kingdom is a 5 minute ride. HS and Epcot are 10/15mins...MK about 20.
If they still do them, we bought a CD of all the music thats played throughout the resort...its soooo relaxing and even now reminds us of our honeymoon. The smell and tranquillity is a fabulous break after a day at the park.
The Mara sell a chicken pitta which is delicious... thats the quick service place.
Best area for a room is anything off Zebra Trail But peoples opinion will vary of course. . We've stayed there three times now and are trying out Club in August for the first time.

You can download examples of the daily activities guides per month on the AKL fan site online have you found those?

You will never forget the first time stepping in to the entrance lobby... ever. Hope you have a great time x
