Avis child seats

We have three separate bookings with Avis this summer and are aware the child seat hire is $13 a day with a maximum charge of $65 per rental. For us this would be $13 + $13 + $65 so $91 in total.

We have three options:
Hire
Buy (don't need straight away so not an issue and will have time to pop to Walmart.)
Take our own

To confound the issue our daughter will be one whilst out there so her current seat may or may not be suitable size wise. New changes to U.K. Laws mean that she must be rear facing until 15 months. We may have took the current seat with us and had a new one on our return but this may mean being caught out with the law changes. Slightly worried about possible damage in transit especially as we have a lot of flights and must have a car seat on our return. Also issue with carting luggage around the airport makes this a less than desirable option. OB insists on taking the kitchen sink.

I know some are reluctant to hire as don't know the history of the seat and there are possible cleanliness and familiarity issues.

And then we have the buying option. Would of course be easier in some ways but how can we guarantee it will fit in the car? Possibly same issues as hiring overall.

What would you do? Hiring seems like the easiest option.

Walmart do loads of options you can order on line and pick one up There latch system is almost identical to our isofix i.e. GS seat fits in my Cherokee here and in the pick,up Our friends in Florida have and in DILs Duster here Last trip their friends decided to hire a seat
DS was sent to Walmart to buy one before they left the airport it was so good it's Noe used in one of their cars here and it's isofix compatible and faces both ways

Thanks for the advice. Have ordered from Walmart previously so happy to do so again Nd have it delivered to the resort. Would be a case of choosing one and being aware of purchase price versus hire price.

The ones that will always fit are the ones that just use the seat belt to secure it. You can get these in the UK (Mothercare have Disney ones for 44) or in the US (Walmart, Target etc).
