Well worth a visit, we drove down from Orlando and stayed over night, plenty of history there and they love there ghost tours as well, and there is plenty of nice reasonably priced accommodation.

Can recommend Peace and Plenty Inn St Augustine.
Stayed there a couple of nights a few years ago. Remember sitting on our own veranda in a rocking chair with a nice glass of wine and listing to a distant thunder storm roll by. Happy memories.

The Penny Farthing Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Bed and breakfast, which is different every day and freshly cooked. We had a balcony with a rocking chair and stayed in the Elizabeth Bedchamber. It's run by a British lady and we were made very welcome. Easy walking distance to everything (including the distillery!), free parking and wifi.
St Augustine part of my trip report starts here (must finish it!). https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho...0#post12679010

We went last year and stayed for 2 nights in the TRYP by Wyndham Sebastian St. Augustine. Brand new Hotel, beautiful. Just a short walk across the River into town.

Just a word of warning, take some Mosquito repellent. we were bitten to death in St Augustine in October. First time we have been bitten in Years of going to Florida.

These Mossies were especially large and viscous.

We went in September last year and really loved it. It has such a different feel to other parts of Florida. We loved the little hop on hop off train. We also visited the distillery & jail which were good fun. We stayed in the Bayfront Marin Inn which was lovely and walking distance to everything.

We are visiting in September and really looking forward to it - as others have said, looks as though there is loads of history and distillery / winery visits that are all highly recommended. Based on reviews the GhoSTAugustine company seem to get the best reviews for the Ghost Tours - ghostaugustine/?fh-u=58c...e-aa327a5341cb
