Kilimanjaro Safari in the Evening
Last time we were at Animal Kingdom was when they closed the park early evening. It was also before FOP.
Previously we always did Kilimanjaro Safari first thing in the morning but now there is the option to do KS in the evening. Not sure what time they run it to in July (dusk is 8.30pm) Has anyone done the early morning KS and the evening one ? If so was the evening one just as good? What were the queues like in the evening for KS? Would prefer not to have to use a late FP? |

We did the evening one back in November - it was excellent, just as good as the early morning one, we heard the hippos calling and the lions were very active! we did have a fast pass but I don't think we really needed to bother, but that might have been due to the time of yr we went - July might be busier?

Not sure i can give you a fair answer as we have done an early KS loads of times but only done an evening one once. Now we probably caught a bad one and to be honest it depends on live stuff and not animatronics so nothing is certain, but we came off the tour saying that we wouldn't do it again as it was very disappointing. Now I've seen plenty of people give it a rave review so, as I said, we prob just caught a bad one. But just wanted to let you know there is no guarantee.

We did an evening safari this week once it was dark. It wasn’t great. Very hard to see anything as very low lighting and the handful of animals we did see were in the distance. X

We did both a couple of weeks ago and I would recommend it. It has a different feel to it but I would say the morning one is easier to see the animals.

We've done both and by fluke as much as anything we rode at perfect sunset last year.
I would say that my sunset experience, whilst interesting and different, was not any better than a morning one. In fact I think morning might have a slight edge in terms of animal activity?!? |

We had a really good experience in the evening, even the male lion was moving ! But it is the luck of the draw planning to do it again this trip in the evening

We did it at sunset. A good good show of animals and the colours over the savanna were beautiful

We have done it after dark and probably won't bother again. The lions were slightly more active than usual but even the painted dogs that were added for the night time experience weren't doing anything. We much prefer daytime.
