Disney Boardwalk car parking

Hi,

If we go to Boardwalk and explore there in the afternoon / go for something to eat in the evening is it okay to then get the boat into Epcot for Illuminations?

Are Disney okay with people parking at Boardwalk and doing this sort of thing?

Apologies if it's a stupid question... first timer this year

Yes you can but maybe quicker to walk, the boat just pops across the lake. The problem you will have is parking at the BW if you aren't a Disney guest. You may get sent across the road which is no big deal. We often drive past and park at the Beach Club which is often much quieter and tell them you want to eat or look at the resort.

If you have a reservation (ADR) at a restaurant in the Boardwalk (and can prove it) - then yes. If not, then I believe you won't be able to park there for free

We just said we were coming to have a wander around the Boardwalk and parked near the hotel entrance. We then walked into Epcot for a visit to the American pavilion to watch Voices of Liberty! It didn't take long to walk.

I suggest you guys see this thread that ran the other day. Non resident visitors are causing parking problems at certain resorts and Disney are advocating that if you don't have an ADR (meal reservation) and that you are not a guest at the resort you may have to pay for valet parking:

We had ADRs in the GF, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary and they all scanned our magic bands on the way in and told us where to park, the Boardwalk didn't mention anything, not even a 3 hr limit, so we could have actually parked there all day to go to the world showcase! Also at the Polynesian after breakfast at the Kona cafe we could have got on the monorail to MK for the rest of the day, no mention of the 3 hr limit again!

I'm pretty sure there are also issues with limited parking at both Boardwalk and the Beach Club, due to the refurbishments.

And this is why the charge is being introduced.(Not saying that you did park all day by the way but many do.)

Yeah I can see why they would start charging, must be annoying for residents trying to find spaces. The security guards on the gate just seemed so relaxed about it, we thought they were gonna say we were limited to a time but no mention of it.

We have parked at Boardwalk for a look around and were told we had a time limit of 3 hours. It was early evening so we had enough time to walk a full circuit and for the kids to roast some marshmallows on the beach.

We wanted to go back and were considering stopping at Beach or Yacht club instead to go to Beaches and Cream. May have to opt for an ADR
