Yes it can but the dates you are there will be very busy with Spring break and Easter so pick your day carefully.

I would imagine that Easter/Spring Break is very busy and on a par if not busier than Christmas.
We have stayed a little further down the coast (Indian Shores) over Christmas/New Year twice now and the road into Clearwater beach from Tampa has been very busy, eg, road signs overhead quoting that the last 5 miles would take approx. an hour to drive etc; we turned off and took another much faster route to our condo! |

we went there and back in a day- left very early and came back late at night- this was at Easter and it didn't seem too busy.

We spent a day there over Easter a few years ago and it was horrendously busy - we couldn't get parked up anywhere. Ended up on a nature res race type beach which wasn't amazing. About 4 o'clock we moved back to Clearwater and whilst still busy at least we could park.
We'd set off at 8am but it took a long time - due to being sat in traffic for what like seemed forever. |

Love Clearwater... Lots to do. I would stay over just for all the night time activities
Walking the long white powder beach, maybe catch the Dolphins going by? Swimming in the calm warm sea. Relaxing having a drink in one of the tiki bars along the beach. Sunset walking along pier 60 watching the sunset celebrations. A nice meal in Clear sky listening to some live music, then moving on to pier 60 roof top bar and watching the night come in. Amazing. Worth a night or two imo! |
