Visit to a beach for a half day?

Hello,

first trip to Orlando in June 2016.

Was hoping to visit a beach while I'm in Florida but have no experience over what would be best? Group of 3 adults, 2 kids. No hire car so will be relying on bus/taxi/uber.

Any advice on the best beach to go to, even just for a few hours?

Is it a silly idea to even think of going to a beach?

Thanks in advance for your help?

It's going to be a very pricey round trip for a few hours?

Unless you've got a car it may be worth reconsidering a visit to the beach, a very expensive round trip I'd imagine.

I'm not sure if it will be pricy or not I'm afraid, will hopefully be someone knowledgeable to help out soon!

Thanks, I had assumed looking at the map that it would be a bit of a no-go. Just seems a long way to travel without visiting a beach but I may be completely wrong. Plenty more to do I'm sure :-)

Attraction Tickets Direct offer an excursion to Clearwater, maybe this might be an option for you.

With a car Cocoa or Clearwater would be OK for a day trip but otherwise it is a very expensive few hours. The excursions are about £50pp.

Most people don't bother with the beach on their first trip, believe me there are plenty of waterparks in Disney and Universal.

Bus trip to Clearwater is your best bet, but it's a whole day. Taxi to Port Canaveral is $150 each way. Clearwater's further so would be more. There's no service bus to either.

We are doing a day at Busch gardens and staying the night at a hotel in Clearwater then the next day spending a day at the beach and then back to base in Orlando in the evening. Just an idea for you 👍
