KSC or not - opinions please
So we go to Florida in May for 3 weeks which will be our honeymoon, it will be our first time as a family (soon to be wife and stepson who will turn 9 whilst there!), although I was spoilt as a child and have been 7 times!
We are in 2 minds as whether to do a day at Kennedy Space Centre or not, we did a rough plan and are struggling for days, we have 3 week Disney tickets, 2 week Universal tickets including a night at HRH, 2 week Seaworld tickets including Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens. I am sure we would all love it, but don't know whether it will be a stretch to squeeze it in on top of everything else, we are treating it as a "once in a lifetime" trip, although I know a lot of you thought that and have been every year since! What do you think?! Any advice/opinions welcome! Thanks |

If you have time do it
If not then I will say I didn't 'love' it like I expected to. My husband did but myself and our girls were not overly fussed and wouldn't visit again now we have been. I know there are many who really rate it but if I am entirely honest... Im not one |

You will get two schools of thought on this - those that love it and those that hate/find it boring.
We as a family love it. DH & I are both quite "geeky" and love space stuff. DD enjoys it too even when she was younger (now 7). There is so much history there - its just amazing. Its a nice change of pace so I would find a day for it. |

We love it.
We're not going this year but we've been on our last couple of trips. The Atlantis Exhibition is breathtaking and is alone worth the admission IMO. Have a look and see if there are any launch schedules whilst you're there. We've missed a shuttle and a rocket lol but the atmosphere is always electric (until it's scrubbed!)

Totally agree with Vanillapod.
The Shuttle Atlantis exhibition on its own is worth the trip. It is the actual shuttle in the condition that it returned to Earth, there are still scorch marks on the fuselage and heat resistant tiles. The cargo doors are open and the crane is extended. This is real living history. One of the best highlights of all our visits to FL Edited at 03:06 PM. |

If this does turn out to be a once in a lifetime trip and you can't fit it in, will you regret not going? If the answer is yes, then you should go. If no, then don't. For us, it is worth going as we all love space at the moment and I'm not sure if we'll be back again and we would regret it.

So the KSC may be a little blah after the parks, especially if Space isnt your thing.
However! We were lucky enough to be there accidentally at the same time as a rocket launch. Keep an eye here nasa.gov/launchschedule/. I went with my husband and parents in 2000. My Dad, a grown man of 60+ at the time, cried as it launched. The most amazing sight we have ever seen and a moment never to be forgotten. THEN, it makes the parks look blah. Mission Space, in yer face! Expect an early start. Ours launched at 6am, had to get there at 4am for a decent parking spot (5 miles away!), and had to leave Orlando at 2am to get there. But worth every minute. Enjoy! Jane |

I went years ago and didn't really enjoy it but my DH really did. This year DS will be 8 and we are going again as DS has never been and I think it will be really educational for him.

We have been to Orlando many times and visited KSC last year for the first time - myself, husband, son aged 21 and daughter aged 15. We all absolutley loved it and had the best day ever.
I didn't think I was going to enjoy it that much, but it was fascinating. I would definitely recommend a visit. |
