Connections
Can I ask, for those of you who have done the journey to Japan indirect with a connection, what have your connection times been?
Very close to booking flights (with ANA via dusseldorf) but a little hesitant due to the 1 hour 25 connection time and not knowing whether this route requires us to collect our bags and re-do bag drop etc. Do you think this will be enough time? Would we just be booked on the next one if it turns out its not long enough and we were to miss it? Thanks for any help! |

I don’t know Dusseldorf airport but generally I like a longer connection time. If on one ticket, your bags will go through. However, with less than 90 mins there is little buffer time. I have made connections in 30 mins but recently ended up waiting more than 24h to get home from Brussels after my incoming flight was 1h late arriving - even though we boarded on time!

Thanks melbatb for the info.
My decision is vetween an SAS flights with a 2 hour 55 connection which would be fine, or an ANA flight, which is the better airline, with 1 hour 25 connection. Not sure what to do... |

ANA go direct from Heathrow (this is the route I hope to get my reward flights on in a few weeks) so you going via another location as it saves a lot?

It's mainly convenience of being really close to Birmingham airport, so flying from here with a connection is easier than getting down to Heathrow and flying direct =]
So wasnt sure which of the 2 flights to do for the best... |
