Is this too early?

This was in a Toby carvery in Trowbridge last week (9th July), and the kids haven't even broken up for their summer holidays yet

Side note: The Toby carvery food in Trowbridge Park was awful and the worst food we've ever had in a Toby.

Definately too early ,it will be Head office advice though.

I'm not going to name and shame the last one I went to with work , lets just say it's a bit uncomfortable hearing the staff fighting, seeing the chef with a long uncovered ponytail and beard serving the Carvery without hair-covering and multiple children running back and forth helping themselves to meat and yorkshire puddings without using a plate .

Genuinely had no idea Toby Carvery still existed.

Presumably, you go to Little Chef for breakfast you crazy man.

Who still eats at a Toby Carvery? Dreadful places! Used to enjoy them YEARS ago, when they were few and far between, but they are dreadful now.

It's been a lot of years since we went to a little chef, and I don't remember it being that nice either. I did like their cherry pancakes though.

We don't go to Toby's very often, but we were away for a couple of days and were getting hungry and thought it would do the job (it didn't).

I went to Toby Carvery once and the man cutting the meat had a new tattoo and his hand in cling film. He said he was struggling to cut as his hand was hurting and gave us two tiny pieces of meat. My roast dinners are better than Toby Carvery, I’ve yet to have a better roast than I make but would love to find somewhere because I’m a lazy cow and don’t want to cook!

We started going to a lot of pubs out in the sticks last year for Sunday roasts, and none were bad, but they weren't as good as you can cook at home so spending around £30 for 2 roast dinners that were microwaved wasn't worth the drive and often the wait for a table and the food, so we don't tend to bother much (plus I'm hard to please).

I hadn't considered that, but oh dear I wouldn't go for free.

A family I know went to a local hotel/restaurant for Christmas dinner as a treat a few years ago, and it cost around £300 for the 4 of them without additional drinks or tips, and they were all really disappointed with the food and vowed to never eat Christmas dinner out again (and they aren't as hard to please as me).
