Can't help with directions I'm afraid as you don't know where you're going yet?
At a guess likely to be the Davenport area along US27. South exit 417 toll from MCO I'll guess. . Let us know how the arrival and journey goes. Mick

If this is where they are when you arrive then the second TC carousel is 28B on level 1 side B. So you could use the courtesy baggage transfer if you like as that's where your cases should end up. Trouble is some Dibbers have said that if things go wrong with the CBT they've waited 2 hours at the second carousel. I'm in the villa pool by then. Mick

Exactly Mick... avoiding 2nd bag drop mightn't save you much, but it might save you an awful lot in the right (not too uncommon) circumstances.
The only other bit of advice I'd add is regarding the whole Terminal A and terminal B naming convention. It's a bit crap and misleading until you get your bearings. You'd expect A and B to be different buildings, but the layout of the terminal is that it's basically a big rectangle with 2 monorails at one end, 2 at the other and a lot of partition walls creating desks down either side and a load of shops in the middle. One of the long sides of the rectangle is terminal A, the other terminal B, with no clear indication when you go from one to the other in the middle bits.

Agree with Mick - some Dibbers have had long waits for second bag collection. We haven’t used it since our first trip 10 years ago. If you can manage the bags yourself, take them on the monorail- you will be so much quicker.

Our experience of second bag collection last year was a nightmare.Even though all our luggage was together at first bag drop, one bag arrived at second bag drop relatively quickly the rest took over an hour and TC reps were of no help.Bags took so long I had the boss of our private transfer calling me threatening to pull the driver as he had overstayed in the holding area and had another hire.Thankfully luggage arrived not long after.
Having said all that, the previous year second bag drop was a piece of cake and we were through security, secong bag drop and out the airport in an hour or just under so it would appear to be down to time of year, how many flights arrive in and around the same time Although its a longer journey to hotel actually looking forward to to arriving and going through Sanford this year |

Thomas cook have a desk directly opposite the Alamo desk where you need to go to collect your villa details if it’s an aoa booking

Considering we spent over an hour waiting (along with about 20 other people) for one of our suitcases to turn up at the second carousel (they parked it there then filled the carousel with luggage from later flights), I would absolutely avoid the second carousel and say it ABSOLUTELY saves time.
And no I’m not exaggerating the hour + wait. We were 5 hours from landing to leaving the airport that night due to everything that could possibly delay us actually happening.

in general how long is it taking to get from arrival to out of airport? We go on 11th and we are still scarred from our last experience of MCO 6 years ago which took 4 hours to get through
