Don't be fooled by Universal wait times!

We have noticed that times are way over estimated, eg. Spiderman today said 35 mins, actual time 10 mins. Obviously trying to sell express passes. We noticed it in the studios the other day too on Men in Black.

That does not seem right, I have never bought fast pass in universal use to getting Disney for free wonder if they will charge one day

There could be some mileage in your theory as when we visited IOA in May this year, one of the digital boards showed the queue times as 10/15mins, but when we got to the rides, the entrance stated 75mins!

Cynical view. Don't get me wrong you may be right but also the times aren't live and rely on them timing the queue periodically. Things change so 35 minutes could have dropped to 10 by the next measurement.

The central boards in all parks are notoriously inaccurate as they require manual updating.

Unlike Disney I usually find universal times more inaccurate. I think it works both ways though, sometimes they underesrimate times too.

Like you, when we were there the digital boards always showed different times to the ride entrance wait times. However, we found that the wait times at the ride entrance were far more accurate than the digital boards.

We've been when the displayed times have been shorter than the actual wait and sometimes when they've been longer than the actual wait. Generally though, on average, we've found them to be about right.

Of course, if they displayed a shorter time and then it took longer, people would be a bit disgruntled. If they show a longer time and the wait is shorter, people are pleasantly surprised. So to keep people happy there may be a tendency to overestimate the wait a little.

We were there day before last and opted for the fast passes . This proved to be a wise if not cheap move as ome of the queues were quite long . The
mIB ride stated 15 but it was more like 35 . The fast pass got us there in 10 minutes.

Quick hint. We got four fast passes and shared them with the other family of four with us. This proved to be a fantastic way of speeding up the day for both families.

When we were there in June the Q's were awful 45-80 minutes! express pass lines were'nt walk ons either so we decided against the extra expense of the express passes and took the single rider lines instead... prefect, even the forbidden journey was a walk on and we got to ride 3 times with no Q's... for free! X.X

We walked on to Spiderman/MIB/Simpsons etc last week and we were shocked by WWHOP as the rides were showing only 10-15mins...not that we did any of those rides as DS was not keen
