Heartbroken
A few months ago I posted about saying goodbye to my cat Smudge after 22 years. I had booked him in to say goodbye, then the pandemic hit and we postponed. He perked up in the summer sunshine, he spent his final months sunbathing. Yesterday his breathing changed and mobility went down hill.
So today we said goodbye. I was not prepared for the process, it was heartbreaking. The only positive is that he was completely relaxed, my vet suggested giving him a few doses of his painkillers beforehand. So he had a peaceful death and was napping as it happened. I miss him already ☹
