Concierge - breakfast snacks
Concierge – breakfast snacks
Adam slept in today after a good bit of wine last night – and general knackeredness, so I went a wandering and brought him some concierge pastries to the room for when he woke up (wife points right there) So heres a pic... The bread was a bit hard – but the pastries were lovely!

Cabanas - breakfast
Cabanas – breakfast
Today was an at sea day – so once I’d come back from my wander, we went for ‘proper’ breakfast at cabanas. It was a gorgeous day so we took our brekkie outside on to the deck, which was such a gorgeous start to the day. My plate (I only had one… slacking! ) included a sausage (yep I got one this time!) Eggs benedict sans sauce, bacon, scrambled egg… and the best of breakfast foods… corned beef hash with ketchup. De-Lish! I hope they have the same breakfast on all the boats… if so… 60 odd days to go! WOOP! Adam went for similar… but included some salmon… and asparagus… and a hash brown. Strange man. It was a lovely breakfast in a great setting as we were just floating about at sea

Royal palace – lunch
Royal palace – lunch
We decided to give royal palace a go for lunch as after two breakfasts you really do need a three course lunch. It was surprisingly quiet in the restaurant. I won’t post pics as you saw them yesterday ☺ The lunch menu is pretty impressive – and I’ve just spotted a corker of a cocktail on there – “Koolaid” – Vodka, Midori, Amaretto, Lime juice, cranberry juice and orange juice. That sounds amazing – how did I miss that? (Maybe because it was just gone noon…?) Anyways… water and diet coke ordered we then chose our starters. I went for the chilled strawberry soup as I’d heard about the one in GF and I knew we weren’t going to make it there this trip. I am so glad I did, it was gorgeous. Such a thick soup – quite like a smoothie – served with a dollop of creamy yummyness which may have been cream though might have been yoghurt. It was gorge. Adam went for the french lentil soup which had vegetables and sausage in it. It doesn’t look great but I think Adam ate it all. That said he doesn’t remember it so it can’t have been all that good. For mains we both went for the fettuncine pasta with meatballs. This was quite basic but tasty enough – could have done with being a bit hotter and a bit more complex but actually for lunch it filled a hole (not sure there was one if I am honest). So much so that we decided against dessert! The stand out here was absolutely that strawberry soup. It was stunning and I’d go back just for that. (And to get one of those Koolaids! )

Hi Dianne!
Linda here …. we met at the London DIBB meet and then again, all too briefly, on the Disney Magic last month I've been meaning to look up your dining review since we got back and I'm glad I did! We are trying concierge on The Dream next October so I am loving your reviews! Could you take a glass of wine from the lounge down to dinner with you then? That'll save me a few dollars if so Did you book the TA by the way? Lx |
