Universal dining package

So in all the years of going to universal, we've never done this.

Staying overnight in RPR as usual to take advantage of FOLP, we take a packed lunch for first day and am considering the QS dining package for day 2. As we always buy the freestyle refillable cups, what is everyone's opinion on the buying the plan instead? Cups are 13.99 plus tax, QS deal (inc cups) 28.99 plus tax.

Thanks in advance guys

We are the same, been to universal many times but never done the dining plan. We were also talking about doing it this time as we feel it is good value. We also need a freestyle cup so for an extra $15 you get an entree and a snack which would cost more than that if brought separately.

We used it last September but only because it was buy one get one half price for annual passholders. We bought four more on the deal to use this year as it was good value.

I wouldn't bother if they weren't on offer though as it isn't the easiest of plans to use. You have one card per plan and each of the items stays on there until used, so I had lots of cards and found it hard to remember what I had left.

Hope it's ok to post a link to this article, I thought it was interesting, it's shows the savings (or not) on the plan.

We bought the one with the freestyle cup last year for one day and then reactivated the cups. It was worth it for us as we had breakfast planned at the Leaky Cauldron. It's also been beneficial as we can use the freestyle cups this year. We also have annual passes so hoping the QS meal deal is BOGO 50% off again.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Going to have a read at that article. had thought about an annual pass in the past but as we generally go just once a year it just didn't seem worth it even with the benefits, now if
I could go more than once a year... !

countdowns are coming along nicely!

I'm only booking our hotel tonight, so feeling a bit unorganised with this trip!

We'll be staying at RPR too. Was torn between that and HRH which we've stayed at three times before, but we're going to try something different this time.

I'm expecting it to be busy the first couple of days but hope it quietens down after Memorial Day.

Aren't they?! It's flown in since I booked flight back in August. Booked RPR back then too and haven't managed to see it cheaper yet. I'll keep checking up til the day we go tho as it can be cancelled and refunded up to the morning of arrival. Villa final info arrived this morning via email, much excitement ensued from me followed by "that" sick feeling I get lol.

We've stayed at HRH before too and whilst I like it, I prefer the atmosphere in RPR, feels much more exotic, luxurious and laid back imo. We're there 1/2 June, might see you!

Was thinking the same re Memorial Day as we're 3 weeks earlier this year as I want my son to be back for his last week in P7. Daughter stops uni on Friday for study leave and exams so we don't have the secondary school exams timetable to worry about this year thank god! X

Booked RPR for the week

Can really get excited now.

I think by the time you arrive at universal the parks will have calmed down a lot.

We've booked discovery cove for the Sunday and planning on seaworld on the Monday to miss the bulk of the crowds at universal.
