splitting the bill with DDP

Hi,
We're travelling with another family all on DDP whilst at Disney. At home we always just split the bill down the middle when eating out and aren't ones for calculating who had what. However with table service meals using our credits, paying tips and any non-included extras, how does paying work? Do we need to tell them at the beginning to split the bill in half so we can charge the tip back to our own rooms?

When you sit down just as for "separate checks".

They will happily split bills for you - it's quite easy with the little machines they (now) bring 'round to the tables. One person in each party will tap his band - and you'll be set. You can leave your tip/extras money in cash - or charge it to your MB.

If you're both on DDP you can just tell them how many credits to take off each band too. Asking for split checks would be mostly helpful for tipping if you don't want to just split that.
