Ford Edge rear seats removal?

Hi we go in just over a month and I'm becoming more interested in the pictures of which cars people have hired. Seen this week someone has had a Ford Edge which is what I would like to try as to be fair I like the look of them over here but noticed on a picture it shows they have rear seats in the boot but they don't seem to be folded flat. Is this just because of the way they had them set or do they not fold completely flat thus taking up valuable boot space

The pictures on that thread was of a ford explorer. The post has been edited so that may be why you thought it was an edge?

We had the same category as an edge last time and no third row of seats. It wouldn't have been possible from memory.

We did swap to an explorer mid holiday. Ours had the third row of seats removed if memory serves. I'm sure the kids would have wanted to get in them if we'd had them and I'd remember the arguments!

That now makes even more sense as I thought it didn't look like the one I had driven past at my local Ford dealer. So is the explorer Still a std SUV as I thought a Edge was classed as standard.
Thanks for your reply very helpful.

I'm sure it varies depending on which hire company. I was certain when i booked the edge it was called a full size SUV but nearer the time it was called intermediate which made me panic. We had a Chevy equinox when we first got there. We had the three cases and pushchair in the boot and nothing else was going in, we were lucky we had a problem with the car and got to change it as it happened.

I am getting really confused with all the E Ford SUVs.
When we made our original booking for BA flydrive it was for an Escape. I then upgraded it to an Edge or similar which is group W which I think is the standard.
I dont think Avis mention the Explorer as an example, and I appreciate that the original thread car was from Alamo, but do Avis do Explorers as well and which group?
