I only read about 99.99% of posts in the driving forum but I can also confirm that no Dibber has ever posted being asked for the book. I'd also reiterate Tom's comments about it being an excellent read and we've probably had about three versions of it in the past. We certainly weren't asked for the book about a month ago.
Just to repeat what others have said about other Alamo promotions. As soon as you select "book it" on the Brits web page you immediately go next to the USA page which allows you to do OLCI and skip the counter. There's no further mention of the word "Brits". You can use Alamo Brits to book a car in Alaska, Massachusetts and all states between. I can't imagine the guy at the barrier in Anchorage asking to see your Brit's Guide. Mick

In answer to my own question about whether EP include UMP, found this in small print on Alamo UK site when doing a mock booking in the bowels of the T&Cs.
Not entirely sure what all that means, but I guess this means at least there is $100k coverage for "damage" to occupants. I take Tom's point about CDW covering damage to the hire car. Am I right in thinking that damage to other party's car/body is generally covered by LIS (which is also part of Alamo EP) as opposed to CDW which only covers hire car? Oh... and I do indeed have a copy of the Brits Guide circa 2012 vintage and would heartily recommend it. It's probably about time to buy a new copy anyway.

Yes the CDW waives your responsibility to your car. I guess the underinsured protection could come in to play if you were hurt in an accident by another car who was at fault. If this driver had no insurance or low third party insurance company then I think compensation would be made from the 100k under insured section of the the extended liability policy. |
