I spoke to some CM's about this in 2014 and they told me that Spielberg wont let this attraction be closed. I really hope that's true, although I do think it needs a refurb I love the nostalgia of it and I'd be really sad to see it go

I hope this is true, it is one of my favourites, as you said more for the nostalgia now.

I love the smell when you walk through the wooded area, reminds me of being a kid, my cousin always said he wishes he could trap the smell in a jar so he could sniff it when he's at home and missing Florida.

Agree, it could do with a little refurb, but doesn't need to close down!

I love the ET ride. It reminds me so much of being little at WDW and I'd be gutted if they closed it. Agree that BTTF was better than The Simpsons ride too. Last year was my first time back at WDW in 18 years and I didn't even know they'd got rid of BTTF until we got there

It has some bits in the earlier part of the ride which are still fantastic, the walk/queue through the forest is still brilliant. I also agree with Tracey about Back To The Future, that ride was, and still is one of the best that they've ever had.

Ive heard this one as well, a CM told us that he would pull anything that has his name on if they get rid of ET, which would mean bye bye jurassic park. Obviously how true it is none of us will ever know.

I don't like the second part either... it's not from the film and plain silly! But I love the rest of it. I always think it feels a bit abandoned in the corner of the park ready to be overlooked

Can you still get your photo with ET after coming off the ride?

We had ours taken in May 2006, and will be going back again in May this year. So if would be nice to have another pic exactly 10 years after the first one! (then we can see who has aged the most lol!)
