Mobile Curve card abroad

Anyone taken a curve card abroad recently? I’m considering getting one and linking it to my Virgin card which I get 1.5 points per £ on. I think it would have to be the black one as the blue one only has a £500 per month limit for FX transactions before a fee is payable. As I want it for 4 weeks in Canada and a LOT of hotels bills, that wouldn’t work, but the black one costs £9.99 per month, potentially bringing the conversion rate right down. So am I better to stick with my no fee Halifax Clarity or should I go with curve and possibly get lots of points.
Thoughts please.

It's a question of how you value the points. Despite the transaction fee after the £500 you are still saving a % or 2 on the on the exchange rate by curve using the interbank rate

If my understanding of this card is correct, I’d be worried about linking my credit and debit cards & accounts to it. If the Curve card is ‘scammed’, would the scammer be able to access the other cards linked to it, and scam them too ? Also which company would be responsible for handling any fraud ? Your bank which will usually refund you if they are satisfied you weren’t at fault. Or Curve, would they do the same ?

Also if you link it to a credit card, would transactions be covered by Section 75 Protection or would Curve be viewed as a third party intermediary which could invalidate claims you might want to make direct to the credit card co ?

Sorry to sound confused, I don’t really trust this sort of thing !

To be honest the curve card is probably more secure as it can be switched on or off within the app. To use a card with curve you have to select that card within the app so if the card was compromised only the selected card would be at risk. Curve, as the payment card would be responsible. In all honesty it's no different to using PayPal, but with a physical card

Re the section 75 protection, curve have now introduced their own payment protection cover which is very similar to the cover provided under sec 75
