I did this, we saved up so hard to buy our house for a full year after we moved in we needed a holiday so got a 0% credit card, that was 4 years ago and we have only just paid it off, life got in the way and we’ve been back to Florida three times since, I would never do it again, this is what the credit card company’s expect to happen and that’s why they offer 0% becasuse a lot of people just pay back the minimum

Excited about Disney

A lot of good advice has been given on here so there is nothing much I can add really.
No I wouldn't do it, I would save and enjoy the planning over the next 12 months. You then have the credit card for emergencies. Use the £2k cash for a few days in Disney Paris if you want to get a Disney hit or if you're booking a package then use the £2k to book and a lump sum off it. |

No, I wouldn't do it. I need to be able to sleep at night not worrying about debt.

No i wouldn't. Absolutely detest paying for something after it has already been used / enjoyed. Plus it makes me enjoy it less as i would know i have to work for months to pay it off later.
Plenty of time to go until next year, you might find you get next year cheaper. |

I think I would go.
But wanting to go back again after is very common. It’s what I’m feeling like now. I’m usually one that doesn’t like loans or credit cards etc but we put all of Florida on ours but we had the money in bank to pay it straight off it was just easier and more secure to do it that way. Problem is if your wife gets pregnant then what would you do about 2020? Not go? Go with a baby ? Push it back few years? Last time I went was 2008 and we said we weren’t coming back till we had done having kids so there was no issues with taking a baby. As much as I love Disney I just couldn’t cope personally with a baby there. But it is awful paying off stuff youve already used. It’s a tough call |

Nope! I wouldn't want that debt in case something untoward happens. I'd rather wait and save up enough to splurge while I am there knowing the holiday is all paid for.

I’m in the go next year camp. It’s depressing enough coming back from holiday without then having to pay for it 😁

We always save for our holidays before we go so I’d say wait until next year. I’ve been impatient with other items and used a credit card and really wish I hadn’t. You enjoy things much more when you know there is no debt attached.

Leave it till next year, that’s a lot of money to put on a credit card and life happens... something could come up and you could need that money, and whilst I understand that you make precious memories but they don’t keep you warm...

Personally this is something I would not do. Yes, I can appreciate that lots of people are saying live for now as you never know what can happen (health wise) but equally you may be lucky and never have any health issues and lots of debt if you continue life with that mindset.
Ok, the CC is 0% interest but that doesn't mean it's free money and shouldn't be used like it is. You might be in a situation now where you can pay off the CC easily but you have also said that you may be having baby no 2. I don't have children myself but I imagine that is quite an expense? If you had decided to save up and do the holiday next year anyway then I personally would continue with that plan. You might need that credit for much more serious things next year and you would never want to regret a holiday like that.
