you mention the rides and the money.
You have a lot of spending money allocated. It’s certainly possible to spend a lot but it’s not inevitable. If you’d feel happier spending less than that’s doable. We set a daily amount and while it’s not rigid it gives me an idea that I won’t be coming home to a bill I’m uncomfortable with.

Re the rides. There are many more rides in Disney for the whole family. Including the little ones. And only a few with height restrictions so I think it will be less of an issue then it was at Uk theme park.

Saying that. Inevitably someone will get tired or have a grump. Take a break. Have a drink or a snack. Or abandon the parks and do something else. Try and remember it’s supposes to be fun. If it stops being fun it’s time for a rest.

I agree with you, I wouldn’t spend a year’s wages on a holiday either. I was trying to make the op feel comfortable with her decision to spend that amount though, as she appears to be having doubts.

They had obviously thought it through and discussed it before they committed to spending though (I would imagine they did anyway) and wanted to make a special trip for the family. I was trying to help her see that the decision was made and she can afford it, as she pointed out in a later post, so she shouldn’t dwell on the cost and just enjoy it for what it is, a family holiday without the pressure of trying to make it perfect.

I certainly wasn’t saying you were wrong as I wouldn’t spend a year’s wages either, but that there is no right or wrong, it’s personal choice.

Ended up being two thirds of my salary so after everything as I had over estimated and saved up loads to make sure I could pay the credit card off (used as it charged no transaction fees) I’ve ended up with paying off that balance, paying for upgrades to tickets and have spare in bank for next years.
Dunno how I over estimated by so much.
I get bad anxiety and down easy and tend to panic, worry and over think.
This board is brilliant for getting a straight perspective.
I look back to how panicked and confused I was and it all ended turning out much better than I expected. I’m not sure why I always feel like everything is going to go wrong.

I’m hoping I won’t get so much anxiety in the future now I’ve done it.

So pleased you had a great time. It’s always better to overestimate how much you are going to spend, at least then you have everything covered.

I think we all get anxious before a holiday. It’s a big expense and takes so much planning and we want it to go well, then just before we go we tend to worry about all the things that could go wrong (but rarely do). At least now you are better prepared for next time.

We are going to Vietnam next weekend for the first time ever, and I’m more anxious than excited at the moment as I’m stressing about mosquitoes and tum bugs 😂 I think I’ve spent a month’s wage in Boots etc this weekend on medication to take to prevent anything affecting us, but I’m sure it will all be fine once we get there.

Will you be doing a trippie?
I think as soon as you see your son the mossies will be forgotten.

I think you are right, I won’t care about anything once I see our son again. I think I will need tissues when he meets us at the airport 😭

We are halfway through our Croatia trip report at the moment (so many holidays, can’t keep up with the reports 😂 ) but we will try to write a Vietnam trip report when we’ve completed the Croatia one
