Talk to me about BA/AA
Hi everyone!
We are looking at booking again for next year but hoping to save on costs by going indirect! I have priced up this October as a comparison and some of the flights are coming it at £330pp indirect via Philadelphia with BA/AA! Which is a fab price! I have only ever been with virgin and Thomson so tell me about BA? Particularly the Philadelphia route? I am a very nervous flyer and feel safer on larger planes, I'm sure I've read that they use an a330 to get to Philadelphia? Would 1 hour 55 minutes be ok for the outbound connection? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for your help! Xx |

You'll be fine with AA on the MAN-PHL route. The size of plane for internal flights varies massively. Best way is to look at the available internal flights and use a site such as seat guru to research what plane is likely to be used.
We have the same connection this coming August and should be fine. No time to hang around, but is a 'legal' connection. |

We did LHR > PHL > MCO in October 15 and it was all very smooth.

We had sub 2hrs on our last indirect flight (via Atlanta) and had plenty of time to spare.
We're also doing the BA/AA codeshare this year from Heathrow (Philly outbound and Miami return) with a similar layover time. You get to reserve your seats for free on AA once you've booked, so don't forget to choose them online |

We did Man-PHL-TPA last month. First indirect as we usually fly from LGW. We had a 2hr connection time and made it with plenty of time - even with 3 kids in tow. We did take hand luggage only though so didn't have to worry about collecting suitcases and dropping them back off
Large plane on the transatlantic part, smaller plane on the internal flight (but still a sizeable 2 x rows of 3 seats plane) Couldn't fault it, PHL airport was easy to navigate and it was nice to stretch legs/eat before the last flight. I'd happily do that route again |

I prefer stop overs. Time to rest, stretch legs and get something decent to eat. You will also clear customs. So you will arrive in MCO and pass straight through and be refreshed and not starving.
