LGW VA twilight checkin and PI north terminal

We are travelling on august 2nd this year by the earlier flight VS27 (corrected - thanks Tom!) which leaves LGW at 1010.

So if you stay at the premier in the night before what do you do about twilight checkin , morning check in ?

Curious to know what your timings are.

Thanks

BB

BB. Please check your flight details! You are on the VS27 not the VS15.

Fri 2 Aug 2019 London Gatwick (LGW) to Orlando (MCO)
Depart:
10:10
Arrive:
14:25
Duration:
9h 15m
Flight number:
VS27
Aircraft:
Boeing 747-400

No matter what time the flight leaves we always do Twilight Check In. However the car isn't collected until the next day so it's easy to dump the overnight bag in there.

Thanks ref flight number - we are on VS27

so if you do twilight checkin does that mean on the day of the flight you go straight to security?

Any idea - in terms of walking time - how far the VA gates are from security ?

Thanks

That's right, if you do twilight check in, on the morning of your flight you simply go straight to security. Not sure of walking time I honestly can't remember from my last trip.

BB. We leave the car at The Hampton Hotel car park with the meet & greet Guys. Up through the Hotel and straight to Security and through. Don't go anywhere near the VA desks as we have the boarding cards from the evening before.

Steer Mrs Morrow through Duty Free and find somewhere to sit down unless we are in the Clubhouse. VA use gates normally in the number 563/565 region, however sometimes they use one the other end of the North down past the Clubhouse albeit not often.

From the main concourse it's a 5 min stroll to either gate(s) they are using.

From memory it's not very far.

As it is August the airport is likely to be busy so bag drop the night before is sensible. However I would say it depends on where you are staying, how many in your party and age.

If you are the north terminal premier inn then it is just across the road so very easy

Thanks everyone.

We are in the north terminal and I've watched vlogs about it being "just across the road from the north terminal" and in this case it definitely is.

We do the twilight check in then have dinner and drinks at the Premier Inn on Airport Way. Lovely way to start the holiday. In the morning its straight thru security for airside shopping. 😉

You literally exit the Premier Inn, turn left, across the the road, the up the moving walkway, or in the lift to the terminal.

We always do twilight check in, just to get rid of the cases.

Just interested in those doing twilight check in. What do you do about change of clothes/underwear and toiletries? Surely you do not take your dirty underwear/clothes as carry on? And what about things like deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush, shaving foam, razor, etc.

I know Tom dumps in his car before it being collected on the morning of flight, but that is not always an option. And in any case, what about the toiletries where you would then need double (one in check in and other for overnight).

Just curious.
