Thanks - I was trying to figure out your average spend per credit, so with 60 TS credits you averaged something like $53 (at $1.25 to the £1) per credit.
Not bad going - I guess if you took the alcohol were possible then that'll have bumped up the total quite a bit - just drinks for the 2 adults could have been ~$600. |

For us the dining is all part of the holiday . Eating Offsite is a completely different holiday so you can’t really compare imo . We wanted to stay at the yacht so have done so having the dining is a bonus for us this time .
I’m a big fan off offsite restaurants but I’m looking forward to eating onsite this time . Youve made some good savings how did you find the average tip ?

I understand why people are saying have you really saved but in my opinion DDP is a different experience all together! We’ve never done it before and we’re really excited to try it next year, upgraded from QS next year for an extra £220 for two adults! In my mind we would be paying for tickets and hotel prices anyway so it’s is a very cheap price for food for 7 days. No we probably wouldn’t eat as much but that’s all part of the dining plan... it’s a new thing for us ! It just depends how you want to do your holiday and what you want to experience

The question of whether you saved as much as you calculated is a difficult one. Had you not had DDP would you have eaten where you did and ordered what you did? If you had got the room with a discount would you have spent as much on food as the upgrade price?
My personal experience is that free dining is a better deal and saves us more money than the free nights offer. Last year we had a week booked at AKL with a saving of £476 (or so) from 2 free nights. DDP was around £699 for 2 of us but we decided against it thinking we’d spend less. We didn’t so ultimately free dining would have been a better deal for us. |

We found tipping for 3 of us on DDP for a 1 TS meal about 30 dollars last October and about 45 dollars for 2 TS meal .

Actually very hard to say as there are "things" that can change the answer:
Not on DDP would you have had desserts at every TS meal? I'm guessing that you also had alcohol, at that price, would you have paid for cheaper options? Did they do a "Free nights" offer later in the year for your Hotel/ That's the big one as you could save £600-£700 & whilst your current DDP "saving" is good it does drop down in this equation plus & this is the biggie- If you hadn't upgraded would you have spent the upgrade cost on TS meals or gone offsite? We have always booked with the free dining as when ever I price up my trips with out even not doing many TS meals I would still need to spend at least $1500 for 2 adults for 2 weeks as that’s only $100 a day which I think would be a bit tight for two adults so at least I can think I’ll have what I want and it’s paid for stress free as others we chose our meals on the day only book the really must do’s so no bother really at all😆

For me, eating out is a massive part of my holiday so the free dining is totally worth it. We would most likely eat in the places we do anyway on the plan, and we would usually have two courses and (I'd have) an alcoholic drink. We aren't those people who have credits left at the end of the holiday as we do use them all up, although a lot of snack credits are used in Starbucks for giant drinks as I love coffee.
Here is how I figure out the cost of my holiday; Table service meal value $60 Quick service meal value $20 2 x snacks $15 =$95 x 5 days is $475 x 2 adults is $950 + tax is approx $1010 $1010 is £780 + 2 x 14 day tickets @£850 = £1630 giftcard value £85 £1715 Port Orleans for 5 nights with the upgrade to DDP was £2088 for my dates, therefore only £75 a night for accommodation once the whole package value is taken into account.

You've not included the cost of the "free" Quick Service dining plan that was included in your hotel stay. That does actually cost some money - that is, you can get discounts on the hotel stay at other times of year.
Or, to put it another way, if you hadn't upgraded you would've paid nothing for all of the Quick Service.
