In which case, you don't need to include it on the ESTA.

Only names (first and middle) shown in the machine-readable part of your passport need to be included on the ESTA.

Although, based on the OP's (and others) anecdotal evidence, not including a middle name that is shown on the passport is unlikely to cause a problem.

OP can you confirm that they have middle names showing on passports and that they did not match esta to this?

Both myself and hubby have middle names on our passports, infact hubby has 2 middle names. But we did not put them on our estas or api and were fine going through Jfk yesterday.

Yes, they all have middle names of passports & they did their estas last month & didn�t put it on the esta as they didn�t know.

I did our estas last weekend I didn�t put in middle names
Doubt there will be a problem at immigration
