Flu jab

Had mine on Thursday and have never been so chocked up. My arm is all swollen and hot - apparently I’ve had an allergic reaction to the jab. Can’t breathe as my nose is so blocked. Eyes streaming - so red eyes. Have spoken to another couple of friends who have had the same - one missed her daughters hen meal...
Anyone else ? I won’t be having it next year, I’ll take my chances after this. !

Oh please don’t miss next year I have had flu once and was in hospital on oxygen for 10 days . I have had some symptoms after my flu jab this year but nothing is worse than proper flu it kills . You can get some cold symptoms but the jab doesn’t give you flu .

No ill effects from me and as NHS workers I don't know anyone who has had issues. If you have never had one before you may have an issue with eggs hence the arm. As the flu jab takes two weeks to work then you may just have a cold for your other symtoms. The flu jab does not cause flu.

I’m emergency services and have heard of several having reactions within a day or so of the jab. I know it’s not flu just a heavy cold but so annoying

The flu jab is not a live vaccine.I know because I am immune compromised and I can’t have live vaccines. And I have had a flu jab.

I had mine a couple of weeks ago. This is the first year I’ve never had a reaction. Usually I get a hot red circle around the jab and sore arm for days but this year I had nothing.
My family all gave their jabs and no reactions. We have ours every year as my hubby had swine flu and pneumonia a few years back and he ended in in intensive care and I nearly lost him. Would not miss now.

Not disagreeing but just putting an alternative. As said I work in hospitals and see many, many staff on a daily basis, none of whom have reported any issues. Then again I don't ask. However I do know that people ascribe issue to the jab which have nothing to do with it in reality but as they happen within days of getting it 2 plus 2 becomes 5.

If this is your first jab and you have issues with with the site area you may be allergic to the eggs within the jag. If on the other hand you get the jag every year but this year have an issue then its not egg related.

I had it a few weeks ago. Apart from feeling slightly bruised on the spot, I had no other reaction, no redness etc.

As I’m immune suppressed I’m supposed to have one, this will be the 3rd year I have declined it.

I had one 4 years ago and it knocked me out for 2 days, never had anything like it, cold sweats, stomach ache, constant tiredness.

Not chancing that again.

I've been getting it for years now, and the only side affect I get is a sore and hot area around the injection site but thats a normal reaction, and you're told about that when getting the injection. I just put a cold flannel on it and iit cools down after a few hours and then it's fine after a few days.
This year I was more tender for longer, but trust me, I'd rather have a sore arm than the flu. 2 years ago I was struck down with the Aussie flu, my god I've never been so ill in my life, I couldn't get out of bed for almost 2 weeks. I wouldnt like to know how I would have been had I not had the flu jab.

If I were ever to get a cold from the jab as people claim they do, then so be it, i would rather have a cold than a flu, trust me.
