Buying a ring (engagement in Orlando)
Hi All
Does anyone know any decent ring shops in Orlando, ideally not far from Disney. I want to propose to my gf in Disney ideally with one of the characters holding the ring while I pop the question. But im I best buying a ring over here or is there anywhere in Orlando that sells rings? Thanks |

I can’t help with your question as to where to purchase but just wondering if you know what sort of ring she will like , if not my suggestion would be to propose without the ring , maybe get some sort of token ring and tell her you both can go ring shopping , do you think she would prefer to choose her own ring or be happy with your choice ?

I know the type of ring she would like having done some recce before hand. Might do that, see if I can find a ring there, if not use a token ring as a temporary measure.

My OH proposed in Disney - he proposed with a cute little ring, and then we went together to Zales at Florida Mall to pick my actual ring.
Zales was fab and really helpful |

We have had beautiful jewellery from Zales in Florida mall and the outlet in Vineland.
JC Penney also have a good selection of diamond rings. They have some great discounts on occasions too. They had a scratch card type event whilst we were there in August and we had a card for 40% off anything. Something like that could work out really well for you. Good luck, sounds exciting!

Being the practical sort I would be concerned about buying such an expensive item in the US. How will you go on with the guarantee if something were to go wrong with it ?
Also strictly speaking you would need to pay duty on the ring when you return to the UK. Congratulations. Hope she says yes. |

I was proposed to for my birthday (dead romantic, in the car on the way home from work,) and we went to Orlando 2 months later. I also got my ring from Zales at the Florida Mall, but they also have outlet shops at both Premium Outlets.
This is mine below, it is a blue diamond with 14 white diamonds (total 3/8 carat diamond) and 10 carat white gold. We got it around Black Friday, got a cracking deal it had 30% off and then a further 10% off. We had to pay $99 to have it altered but then that includes all future alterations and servicing.

Also Zales are part of the same group as H Samuel, but they also said if we got the diamonds checked a local jewellers they would honour the 10 years warranty of the diamonds, but even though we haven’t they’ve still checked them, when we’ve managed to go over. I’ve even sent it with my parents a couple of times. But as said before we have paid for the lifetime servicing, which mean any alterations, replating, cleaning etc will be carried out by them.
