I have skied in Zakopane, it’s a good few years ago and my daughter was part of the GB transplant team competing at the winter games. As we were part of a team we were provided with a hotel which was a little dated but adequate.
The food in the restaurant wasn’t great but it was unbelievably cheap to eat out.
All the teenagers on the team used to grab a cab to the nearest McDonalds!
The slopes were adequate for me, better skiers went off exploring and the completion runs were adequate.
I remember ski hire was cheap but not off the best quality and not a huge choice but I’m sure that has improved along with everything else.
That’s probably not much help to you but my overwhelming memories are of a beautiful, picturesque town. So much more stunning than the alpine resorts. People were so friendly and eager to help, English was not widely spoken but we all got by. I would definitely go back.
One tip we were given was to take our own bath plug! I laughed but went along with it and we needed it! Probably something else that’s changed.
