Can anyone tell me anything about Chicago Airport
Like the title suggests, United has changed our flight from Heathrow and we were originally going through Dulles with a 1 hr 45 min transit to Chicago with a 4 hour wait, can anyone tell me whether we need to change terminal etc and what’s available for food airside please?

There wasn’t a lot airside in the terminal we were in(BA fight). Not even a Starbucks! If at all possible, might be better in a lounge.

Looks like your transatlantic flight will arrive at Terminal 5 and your connecting flight to MCO will leave from Terminal 1. I’ve never cleared customs at O’Hare, so can’t advise on this part but there’s a train connecting the terminals. It’s all well signposted. There seem to be quite a few eateries and shops in terminal 1. I’d check their website for more details.

The train at Chicago is currently out of service and has been replaced by buses. You will need to clear customs/CBT on entry and then connect to a domestic flight. 4 hours should be plenty of time as they have seriously improved the immigration process at Chicago nowadays.
Food options seem to be plentiful once you are back through security again - it’s actually worse at a Terminal 5, the International terminal |

Immigration is quick at Chicago, last time we were waiting for the luggage !
After leaving the customs hall you can recheck your luggage onto a carousel, there are people their to assist ! As Andy0502 said you need to use a bus between terminals as the train is still out of service (should of reopened late 2019) See here for details of the terminal transfer bus flychicago/ohare/Ser...Pages/ATS.aspx |

We transited through Chicago on our way to SF, BA/AA flight so arrived into T5 and left from T3, it was easy enough and there were plenty of food outlets. It looks like United use T1 and again there seems to be plenty of the "usual" airport food outlets. Although as Willeve says T5 seems a bit sparse if you're coming back the same route.
Eat and drink at Chicago select T1 from the location dropdown menu on the link. |

We went through Chicago 2017 on our way to Vegas.
Easy to navigate and pretty straight forward. We had time to spare with a 1hr 30 min stopover. |
