The Grove Resort - any info appreciated

Hi everyone, as the title says really!

Were staying here in May (2a 1c) in a 1 bed condo thing. Anyone have any tips on where to request a room, if people are offered (paid or free) upgrades on check in? Any waterpark tips etc? Is the food any good on site? Is the shuttle worth booking?

Also, does anyone know how much an uber is to/from the TTC? Plus anything else that might be worth knowing?

Sorry for all the questions but any tips/help greatly appreciated 😃

Request a room with a lake view if possible. We had not paid for this and spent our first night overlooking the front. We are light sleepers and found it far too noisy (arrivals and departures; laundry truck). My husband complained and we were upgraded to the much better quieter lake view with an extra bedroom and superior upgrade. The manager also threw in a $100 for us to get breakfast while we waited. The water park is nice. As with most places if you are fussy about where you sit/ lay then it's worth getting there 5-10 mins before it opens. This is not strictly necessary though. We had a meal- it was ok. One of the waitresses was a bit stroppy and when the manager asked how our meal was my husband pointed this out. We were given free drinks at the bar. Overall we had a lovely time and they were falling over themselves to put things right so great customer service. Definitely speak up if you are not happy with your room allocation on arrival.

We are staying here from Friday and have never been. I've emailed them to ask for a lake view if possible so thanks for the tip! Not holding out much luck though as it looks fully booked for our dates

Just wanted to update to say we loved our stay at the Grove Resort!

I emailed to request a lake view and we were upgraded to a superior suite which was huge and had a lovely view.

It’s a great place to stay, we loved it
Great rooms, very clean and high spec
Lake view is better and quieter
We enjoyed the pool, and ate at the poolside bar, food was great reasonable prices big portions
We had a car so don’t know about the transfers
