Surely they cannot decide what is essential Fair enough if they were buying a garden gnome which ASDA have but not wine.
Online wine deliveries are still allowed are'nt they?

I agree with the rules being in place, but it is a bit crazy. I have an online delivery booked for tomorrow, and I wanted bananas. Can’t get 5, so removed them and added a bag, with a minimum of 5 in it, and that is allowed. Don’t know if you could get more bags in one go, I didn’t try, as I only wanted 5.

My husband has been to do the weekly shop this afternoon and got almost everything we wanted. The only thing missing was milk, but we’re not desperate for some yet.

DH bought 4 bottles of wine in Asda yesterday so I would say it was someone just doing it off their own back or the store manager had ordered it but they should be doing what Asda House tell them to do.

Its the 'computer says no' syndrome. God forbid common sense be allowed to kick in!
I totally get why certain products need to be restricted (loo roll being one) but a blanket restriction on everything is madness. It's going to force people to make additional trips to the shops when we should be encouraging the exact opposite. I feel sorry for the supermarket staff who are being made to enforce daft rules and certainly don't blame them. Email the supermarket CEO's if you want to vent instead.

I know rules are rules but seems over zealous to limit bananas to 4, especially when you could theoretically buy 2 or more bags of 5. I shop in Lidl and they have limits on some items which are clearly marked on the shelves. Fortunately, I don't like bananas!

My son went into Tesco express to pay for his fuel and spontaneously picked up 4 chocolate mousse desserts as a treat for us (4) they removed one as he was only allowed three ! Bizarre.
