You have every right to be proud what lovely children you have by the sounds of it. This must be so hard on them.

You have every right to be proud, it sounds like they're both really making the best they can of the situation and totally understanding that these are tough times for everyone. That's a really lovely gesture from Hannah. Happy Birthday Keiran

You are right to be proud.

This is probably the birthday he will remember for the rest of his life, and so will you.

Hopefully we all will find the consumer society we have created less important and will go back to care, kindness and compassion.

Well done to your son and daughter

Helen, this is such a lovely thing to read right now. I have a tear in my eye just reading it, you have every right to be proud of Hannah and Kieran.
It was Hope's 17th birthday yesterday and a bit like Kieran she didn't complain once. Her main present was meant to be driving lessons with her first one today which have obviously been cancelled for the time being so she only had a few little things to open. I kept apologising to her throughout the day (which I know it's clearly not my fault) but I still felt terrible, yet she said she had had a good day with us all being at home then having a fish and chip takeaway for dinner.
I do moan about my kids from time to time but when it comes to the crunch they pull it out of the bag and make us proud
