I’m due to fly VA on 9th July. I’m in the fortunate position that I will receive my money back on most things until June (Villa, Car Parking at airport etc.) I would lose £120 for my park tickets as it stands.

I can’t cancel yet due to the flights with VA still currently flying out and I’m very optimistic that there will be some normality by July?

At least I paid the flights on my credit card but I must say that I feel the government don’t have any choice but to bail out these big companies in such unprecedented times 🤷🏼

So always pay any remaining balance when due unless you are happy losing everything.
That’s all very interesting , but what if the new dates they give you are way more expensive,or if they do cancel and you get vouchers, which won’t cover the cost of a new date which could be a much more expensive holiday , It’s a minefield

I’m worried the vouchers won’t suit our dates. We can only go in August. We’ve looked at changing to next year and prices are a lot more. So I’m more inclined to just lose our deposit

If the holiday is cancelled you are entitled to a refund, you do not have to accept a voucher. The vouchers are if you cancel but the company at that time has not cancelled it.

If a future date is more expensive then it will be up to the company whether they charge you the difference. Chances are they will unless its for the same time but a year later. Holidays costs are different though out the year and so can see why they won't let you have a cheaper holiday during a usually more expensive time of year, or honour any discounts that where not originally available for your new dates ie free dining.
